2017 DB Scott Nelson has Iowa near the top

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Three-star defensive back Scott Nelson already liked the Iowa football program before Saturday's historic victory over then No. 2-ranked Michigan.
The Detroit, Mich. native likes the Hawkeyes even more after witnessing the atmosphere inside Kinnick Stadium during the night game.
"It was really exciting to see the stadium during a night game," Nelson said. "It was cool to see the anticipation build up from the fans throughout the day."
Nelson released his top five schools late in the summer, which included Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State and Wisconsin. Iowa could be climbing to the top of Nelson's list after what he experienced during his official visit this past weekend.
"Iowa is definitely one of my top schools right now," Nelson said. "I don't have a top school right now and that's what I'm trying to figure out. But I really like Iowa and their program."
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Nelson had the opportunity to talk with fellow defensive back and Hawkeye commit Josh Turner, who also attended Saturday's game at Kinnick Stadium while taking an unofficial visit. Turner told Allhawkeyes on Monday that he had a good feeling that Nelson would be the next player to join Iowa's 2017 recruiting class.
"I got to talk to Josh a lot over the weekend," Nelson said. "The class they have put together is great. They have great players all around and great defensive backs in this class."
Nelson still isn't sure about the timing of his decision. He also isn't sure if he'll be able to make any more visits during the upcoming basketball season.
