IOWA CITY, Iowa – For the first time ever, high school prospects can sign letters of intent to a school before February.

The Iowa football team signed 17 players on Wednesday during the first day of the early signing period.

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz met with the media Wednesday afternoon to discuss the players Iowa signed and his team's matchup against Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl.

The bowl will be played on Dec. 27 at Yankee Stadium in New York City.
