IOWA CITY, Iowa – High school receiver Jonathan Mann was greeted with a pleasant surprise on Sunday.
The Minnesota native was offered a scholarship by the Iowa football team, and is believed to be the eighth player from the 2020 class to get an Iowa offer.
Iowa offensive line coach Tim Polasek broke the good news to Mann.
“It feels great,” Mann said. “I honestly had no idea that any of this was coming so it was a very welcome surprise.”
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Mann now sets his sights on scheduling a visit to Iowa and learning more about the program.
“Honestly I would just like to see what kind of offense they are looking to run and what kind of mentality the coaches and players have at their university,” Mann said.
Though he has not been on campus before, Mann has been impressed by what he has seen of the Iowa program from afar.
“Just the consistency of turning out great players and always being a formidable team year after year truly impresses me,” Mann said.
Mann also has an offer from Iowa State.
