Iowa playing host to over a dozen recruits this weekend

IOWA CITY, Iowa – With the Iowa football team’s 2018 recruiting class locked up, the coaching staff has set its sights on the future.
Iowa will play host to over a dozen recruits from the 2019, 2020, and 2021 classes over the weekend.
Iowa has extended scholarship offers to every recruit visiting except for a pair of Walled Lake, Mich. natives in 2019 quarterback Sam Johnson and 2020 receiver Abdur-Rahmaan Yaseem.
Of the 14 players scheduled to visit, four of them play receiver.
2019 receiver Desmond Hutson, a native of Kansas City, Mo., is one of those receivers and is eager to learn about what Iowa has to offer off the field and start to build a relationship with the coaching staff.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing how strong the coach to player relationship is,” Hutson said. “I want to be able to spend four to five years of my life with a group of coaches that see the players as family rather than just business partners. I also want to learn what type of education Iowa can provide for me.”
2019 receiver, who like Hutson, checks in at 6-foot-4, 190-pounds, is taking more of a direct football approach to his first visit to Iowa City.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing their facilities and just learning about what their program, and offense especially, are all about,” Mann said.
The state of Iowa will also be represented well this weekend with four Iowa natives making visits, including offensive lineman and Holstein native Ezra Miller, who was thefirst player to commit to the class last April.
The other Iowa natives making visits are Cedar Falls linebacker Jack Campbell, Council Bluffs athlete Cameron Baker and Waverly defensive lineman Mosai Newsom.
