IOWA CITY, Iowa – College football players aren't getting any younger, but some of those being offered a scholarship to play college football are getting younger.

That would include Clear Creek Amana freshman T.J. Bollers, who received a scholarship offer from Iowa on Friday.

"I am truly thankful to coach Ferentz and the Iowa staff for an offer to study and play foorball at the University of Iowa," Bollers said on Twitter.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Bollers is the second high school freshman from Iowa to have recently been offered by the Hawkeyes this spring, the other being Bettendorf defensive lineman Griffin Liddle.

It isn’t often that Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz offers a high school freshman, let alone two, so that speaks volumes about the potential for both Bollers and Liddle.

Bollers plays defensive end and tight end for his high school team and is the son of former Iowa fullback Trevor Bollers.

The youner Bollers is a multi-sport athlete in high school. In addition to football, T.J. Bollers also participates in baseball, basketball and track and field.

Bollers also thanked on Twitter Iowa assistant coach Reese Morgan for visiting with him during the recruiting process and Iowa Director of Player Development Broderick Binns for his advice. Binns is former Iowa defensive end.
