IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team is perhaps know for nothing more than its offensive line play.
Three-star offensive lineman Dylan Barrett has taken notice of Iowa’s rich tradition at the position after receiving a scholarship offer on Sunday.
“It’s awesome,” Barrett said. “It’s such an honor and they produce great lineman and players. Their coaching staff is stacked from head to toe in experience and they know how to win.
“They really want me to come and be apart of their team and continue winning there.”
As a 2020 prospect, Barrett has plenty of time to narrow down his list of schools, but did say that Iowa is in his top five among offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Western Michigan and Wisconsin.
“I’m blessed to be where I’m at and I’m still open to any school but (Iowa is) no doubt in my top five,” Barrett said.
Barrett, a native of St. Charles, Ill., has taken advantage of his close proximity to the Iowa campus, having made multiple visits already.
“I’ve been on a visit and then I was there at their camp which is when I got offered,” Barrett said. “Their facilities along with their coaches really stand out.”
