IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team concluded spring practice on Friday with a workout that was open to the media.

Select players, including quarterback Nate Stanley, then met with the media afterwards to look back at what was accomplished during 15 practices.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz also addressed the media after practice.

Ferentz praised his players for working hard, but also said there is plenty of room for improvement before Iowa faces Miami (Ohio) in the 2019 season opener on Aug. 31st at Kinnick Stadium.

Ferentz pretty much says the same thing at the end of every spring practice. He always acknowledges the effort put forth by his players, but also stresses the need for improvement.

Iowa's 63-year old head coach actually made history this spring by overseeing his 21st spring practice period. Ferentz is currently tied with Hayden Fry in coaching longevity at Iowa with 20 seasons under his belt.

Ferentz will set the record for longevity this coming season.
