Drew Miller Already Kicking It with Iowa Football
'24 In-State Specialist Visited Hawkeyes Twice in Fall, Returning This Weekend
Iowa fans are fond of saying that punting is winning. They understand the Hawkeyes’ complementary approach to football.
A local could end up filling the role of flipping the field in the future. Mediapolis (IA) High sophomore Drew Miller is Kohl Kicking’s No. 2-ranked punter nationally in his class.
Iowa is well aware of Miller (6-2, 200). He’s set to return for the program’s junior day on Saturday after visiting campus for two games in the fall.
“They were great,” Miller told HF of his first two stops. “The atmospheres were electric, and I learned a lot about the preparations on field hours before the game.”
Kolh’s also ranks Miller as its No. 10 kicker in the 2024 cycle. It’s most recent evaluation reads:
Miller’s most recent camp was in January of 2022. Miller proved to be one of the top kicker/punter combos in the 2024 class at the 2021 Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp. He scored 25 points on his field goal charting and even won the field goal competition held at the end of camp. He also charted extremely well in punting, averaging 113.4 points in charting with multiple punts over 4.7 seconds of hang time. Miller shows tremendous leg speed and power in both kicking and punting, making him one of the most exciting prospects in his class!

Iowa isn’t the only program connected to Miller. He has spring visits set up with Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati and Notre Dame, and already has been to Iowa State, Michigan State and Minnesota.
Special Teams Coordinator LeVar Woods is leading Iowa’s recruitment of Miller, who grew up rooting for the Hawkeyes.
“I have a developing relationship with coach Woods. On game-day visits, he has gone out of his way during warmups to find me, talk to me and make me feel welcome,” Miller said.
Miller is looking to learn more about the academic side of Iowa on upcoming visits.
“I want to study Graphic Design/Digital Marketing,” he said.
