Iowa will face Duke in 2022 Jimmy V Classic on Dec. 6 at Madison Square Garden
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa men’s basketball team will play Duke in the 2022 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The game will be played on Dec. 6.
College Hoops Today was the first to break the news, and the Duke men’s basketball Twitter feed has since confirmed it.
Texas will reportedly face Illinois in the other game of the event.
Former Duke player and assistant coach Jon Scheyer is entering his first season as the Duke head coach after having replaced Hall of Fame head coach Mike Krzyzewski, who retired after last season.
Fran McCaffery will be in his 13th season as the Iowa head coach next season. He led Iowa to the Big Ten Tournament championship and to 26 wins this past season.
Duke has a 7-1 advantage in the series with Iowa. Duke won the most recent matchup 80-62 on Nov. 27, 2001 at the United Center in Chicago.
