IOWA CITY, Iowa – This is a busy week for Iowa baseball coach Rick Heller with the Major League draft being held this week, and with Duane Banks Field hosting the the Class 3A and 4A state baseball tournament.

But Heller still took time on Monday to be the guest on the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast.

Multiple topics were addressed during the 40-minute interview, including his thoughts on USC and UCLA both set to join the Big Ten Conference in 2024.

Heller is excited to have USC and UCLA in the Big Ten and he thinks it will benefit the conference from a baseball standpoint.

Heller also made another plea for the start of the college baseball season to be pushed back one month and he talked about how name, image and likeness is negatively impacting college baseball from a recruiting standpoint.

He also gave a facility update for baseball as significant steps are being taken to upgrade the locker rooms, concessions stand and press box at Banks Field.
