Iowa Coach Previews Saturday's Illinois Game
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa basketball coach Fran McCaffery met with the media virtually Friday before facing rival Illinois Saturday afternoon in a sold out Carver-Hawkeye Arena. He talked about what he expects from the Illini, center Josh Ogundele returning to practice, more minutes for freshman point guard Dasonte Bowen and helping Hope Lodge.

Series: Illinois holds a 90-76 advantage in the series. The Fighting Illini have won five consecutive in the series since snapping Iowa’s five-game win streak from 2018-20. Illinois swept last season’s two meetings: 87-83 in Iowa City and 74-72 in Champaign. Iowa holds a 56-23 advantage in games played in Iowa City, including a 21-13 margin in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Hawkeyes have won two of the last three meetings in Iowa City.
Supply Drive: A supply drive for the Hope Lodge will take place at the Illinois/Iowa basketball game. Hope Lodge is accepting donations in the form of non-perishable food items, gas and grocery gift cards, and 13- & 30-gallon garbage bags.
