Hawk Fanatic podcast: Don Patterson talks Hawkeye football and more
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Former Iowa offensive coordinator Don Patterson made his usual Monday appearance on the Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast to talk Hawkeye football and more.
The Iowa football team enters the first of two bye weeks this season with a 3-1 record, and with an extra week to prepare for its next game against Ohio State on Oct. 5 in Columbus, Ohio.
Iowa defeated Minnesota 31-14 in this past Saturday’s Big Ten opener in Minneapolis after trailing 14-7 at halftime.
Kaleb Johnson rushed for a career-high 206 yards and scored three touchdowns, and he now leads the nation with 685 rushing yards and has scored nine touchdowns.
Patterson, who was also the head coach for Western Illinois from 1999 to 2009, talks about the success of the running game, and gives his thoughts on what Iowa could do to fix its struggling passing game, which only produced 62 yards in the win over Minnesota.
We always appreciate Don’s unique insight.
