Hawk Fanatic TV: Iowa’s three coordinators meet with media
IOWA CITY, Iowa – With this being the Iowa football team’s second bye week, Iowa’s three coordinators met with the media on Tuesday.
Offensive coordinator Tim Lester, special teams coordinator LeVar Woods and defensive coordinator Phil Parker all met with the media in that order as each answered questions for about 20 minutes.
Iowa is 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the Big Ten with two games left in the regular season against Maryland on Nov. 23 in College Park, Maryland and against Nebraska on Nov. 29 at Kinnick Stadium.
Lester spoke candidly about Iowa’s passing woes and about the situation at quarterback, while Parker addressed some of the problems that have occurred on defense this season.
Woods addressed multiple issues on special teams, including the performance of freshman punter Rhys Dakin, who struggled in last Friday’s 20-17 loss to UCLA, but has mostly been solid this season as the replacement for 2023 Ray Guy Award winner and fellow Melbourne, Australia native Tory Taylor.
