Video: Iowa stuns Nebraska with late heroics in 13-10 win
By Dallas Jones
IOWA CITY, IOWA – For the ninth time in the last ten outings, the Iowa Hawkeyes defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Tonight’s matchup that was very similar to last years 13-10 win in Lincoln for the Hawkeyes, this time in a little different fashion.
The Hawkeyes gained just 20 yards in total offense in their seven first half possessions.
While you assume the second half must have been a different story if the Hawkeyes came out with a victory, that was not the case.
I still only conjured one single touchdown drive, which was highlighted by another incredible play by Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson. Johnson broke through several Husker defenders in a 72-yard receiving TD that tied the game after Nebraska missed their only field goal attempt in the second half.
As the game was tied and Nebraska took over posession in the closing minute looking for a win, Max Llewellyn came up with a strip sack on the Husker 36. Setting up a game winner for Drew Stevens and creating a legacy moment for himself.
See what Coach Ferentz, Llewellyn, Stevens and several other Hawkeyes had to say postgame here:
