IOWA CITY, IOWA – There have been rumors the last few weeks about Cade McNamara’s status going forward with the Hawkeye football program. This morning, McNamara answered those rumors with an official announcement that he will be entering the transfer portal.

In his two seasons with Iowa, the sixth-year senior McNamara started 13 games while throwing for 1,522 yards, ten touchdowns and eight interceptions.

A couple former Hawkeyes including current Philadelphia Eagle Cooper DeJean and McNamara’s backup Deacon Hill showed their support for McNamra on social media. Iowa has been rumored to be very active in the portal for a new quarterback this coming season.
