IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa offensive line has received a significant boost as All-Big Ten center Logan Jones will return for the 2025 season.
The Council Bluffs native announced his decision to return Tuesday on social media.
“My time at the University of lowa is something I will cherish forever,” Jones said via social media. “Representing the state of lowa on Saturdays in the fall has created memories that will last a lifetime. To be able to wear the Black and Gold and swarm out with my teammates to the best fans in the country is truly special. To have the chance to be able to play in the NFL is something I have dreamed of since I was a kid, but I’m not done being a Hawkeye yet. Being a hawk has been a dream come true and I am excited for one last season with my brothers! Go Hawks!”
Jones has played a key role in each of the past three seasons as the starting center.
He came to Iowa as a defensive lineman, but switched to center early in his career and has since started 38 games.
Iowa led the Big Ten in rushing during the 2024 regular season.
Junior running back Kaleb Johnson had a breakout season as he led the Big Ten in rushing during the regular season.
Johnson, who has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, often would praise his offensive line in post-game interviews for making his job easier.
With Jones now returning next season, the 2025 Iowa offensive line will have three returning starters, the others being guard Beau Stephens and tackle Gennings Dunker.
All-Big guard Connor Colby and four-year starting left tackle Mason Richman will use up their eligibility this season.
Iowa will face Missouri in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30 in Nashville, Tennessee.
