Auburn QB Hank Brown commits to Iowa
By Hawk Fanatic
IOWA CITY, Iowa – As expected, Hank Brown is now a Hawkeye quarterback.
The Auburn transfer visited Iowa on Thursday and then committed to Iowa on Friday.
Brown started two games for Auburn this season and he threw for 403 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions.
He also passed for 132 yards in the 2023 Music City Bowl as a true freshman.
Brown is expected to compete with Brendan Sullivan for the starting position next season, assuming Sullivan sticks around.
Brown will have three seasons of eligibility.
Iowa already has lost quarterbacks Cade McNamara, Marco Lainez and James Resar to the portal since the end of the regular season, though Resar had switched to receiver midway through the season.
McNamara started the first eight games before suffering a concussion against Northwestern in the eighth game. He would never play again for Iowa.
Sophomore walk-on Jackson Stratton started the last two regular season games at quarterback against Maryland and UCLA, leading Iowa to wins in both games despite throwing for fewer than 100 yards in both games.
