Former Iowa point guard Brock Harding commits to TCU

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Former Iowa point guard Brock Harding barely lived an hour from his hometown of Moline, Illinois when he played for the Hawkeyes the past two seasons.
But with Harding now committed to Texas Christian University, which is located in Fort Worth, Texas, traveling back to his hometown won’t be as easy.
Harding committed to TCU on Thursday as his agent told On3Sports.
His commitment came a day after former Iowa forward Owen Freeman committed to Creighton.
Harding and Freeman helped lead Moline High School to a state title as seniors.
The 6-foot Harding averaged 8.8 points and 5.3 assists for Iowa this past season.

He and Freeman are among seven Iowa players that have entered the transfer portal since Fran McCaffery was fired as the Iowa head coach.
Senior center Riley Mulvey announced recently on social media that he plans to return to his home state of New York to play his final season for Siena.
Junior guard Josh Dix has recently visited Creighton, while sophomore forward Pryce Sandfort is set to visit Nebraska.
New Iowa head coach Ben McCollum said at his introductory press conference on Tuesday he hopes that some of the Iowa players in the portal would consider staying at Iowa.
Fran McCaffery also has been hired as the new head coach at the University of Pennsylvania where he was a standout point guard. The Penn campus is located in Philadelphia, which is Fran McCaffery’s hometown.
It remains to be seen if Fran McCaffery would try to recruit some of the Iowa players in the portal.
