Iowa adds fourth Drake transfer as Isaia Howard announces commitment
By Dallas Jones
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Ben McCollum has been busy in his short time as the Iowa men’s basketball coach.
After bringing in three of his former players from Drake via the transfer portal, the Hawkeyes have added a fourth in Isaia Howard.
The 6-foot-5 guard from Plattsburg, Missouri, is entering his sophomore year. Howard averaged 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 30 games for Drake this past season. He came off the bench in all 30 contests.
Howard joins point guard Bennett Stirtz, guard Kael Combs and forward/center Cam Manyawu as former Drake players that have chosen to follow McCollum to Iowa.
McCollum was hired as the Iowa head coach after leading Drake to a 31-4 record, and to the second round of the NCAA Tournament this past season.
McCollum replaced Fran McCaffery, who was fired as the Iowa head coach after 15 seasons.
