Braylen Warren Reacts to Recent Iowa Offer
'27 NE QB Likes Hawkeye Offense
For Braylen Warren, no dreams are too big. Taking advantage of your opportunities is the key to realizing them.
It’s one of the main reasons why the 2027 Omaha Westside High quarterback is interested in Iowa. He believes in the Hawkeyes’ development.
“I really like the offense because it’s an NFL offense,” he said. “I really like that it will prepare you for the next level.”
Iowa offered Warren a scholarship on Tuesday. He added it to the ones he’s received from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma State and South Florida.
Westside coach Paul Limongi understands why colleges covet Warren.
“Braylen is a great kid,” he said. “On the field, he wants to be the very best he can be. He loves football and loves to compete. Braylen is always working on ways to get better and improve his skill level.
“Off the field, Braylen is polite and soft spoken. He cares about his teammates and is becoming a very good leader. Braylen is a coachable kid, who is dependable and tough. The future is very bright for this young student-athlete.”
Warren enjoyed his recent visit with the Hawkeyes. He could feel the Hawkeye chemistry.
“An aspect that stood out for Iowa was the brotherhood. Everyone treats each other like a family, and that’s something I really like in a program,” he said.
Warren is looking forward to building a relationship with Iowa.
“I don’t know when I’ll be back in Iowa City; hopefully sometime soon, probably in the summer or so. Something that I’d like to learn about the school and program is do they give athletes good resources for academics? Do they get an automatic tutor at first and have assigned study mods?” he said.
Warren isn’t sure about a college major but has an interest in Business.
As a sophomore last season, he quarterbacked Westside to a 12-1 record, completing 67.0 percent of his passes for 2,105 yards and 30 touchdowns. He added a pair of scores on the ground.
Prep Redzone ranks Warren as the No. 1 quarterback and No. 2 overall player in Nebraska’s ’27 Class. The 247 composite rankings show him as the No. 27 quarterback nationally in the cycle.
