2021 offensive lineman Michael Myslinski has Iowa near the top after offer on Monday

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Long before he was offered a scholarship on Monday, 2021 offensive lineman Michael Myslinski was familiar with Iowa’s rich tradition as his position.
That familiarity dates back to when Myslinski’s father, Tom, was on the Cleveland Browns coaching staff.
“I’m extremely honored,” Myslinski said. “They’re a great program. A lot of people call it ‘O-line University’. I grew up watching Eric Steinbach, Marshal Yanda, Brandon Scherff and all those types of guys. It’s a family program, the stability of the program, I’m very honored and I’m very excited about it.”
Myslinski, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., said that Iowa’s success developing offensive lineman is part of why the Hawkeyes are near the top of his list of schools that includes Oregon, Illinois, Louisville and Maryland, among others.
From talking to the coaches, (offensive line) coach (Tim) Polasek, (running backs) coach (Derrick) Foster, (head) coach (Kirk) Ferentz, coach (Tyler) Barnes, they seem like very good people,” Myslinski said. “I’m excited to meet them but honestly I’ve not been there so I don’t know much about the program besides what they tell me.”
While the distance from Iowa to Florida might deter some recruits, The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Myslinski’s life as a coach’s son has prepared him for moving long distances.
“I think I moved three times in three years one time,” Myslinski said. “Like I tell coach, I don’t have a home base. It’s not a problem moving so that’s the least of my worries.”
Iowa currently has eight players committed to its 2021 recruiting class.
