Iowa defensive back Jermari Harris arrested for operating while intoxicated
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa cornerback Jermari Harris was arrested early Sunday morning on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
The arrest happened at 2:46 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Mrytle Avenue in Iowa City, according to the Iowa City Police Department.
Harris was stopped for driving without headlights and had impaired speech and balance, bloodshot eyes, and smelled of alcohol, according to the police report.
Harris admitted to drinking, according to the arresting officer, and his alcohol level was 0.096 percent, according to the Datamaster result in the complaint.
Harris, who is from Chicago, started seven games last season as a sophomore, and was listed as a starting cornerback on the 2022 spring depth chart.
