Don Patterson looks ahead to Iowa’s season opener against South Dakota State
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Hawk Fanatic is thrilled to say that Don Patterson is back for another season of analyzing the Iowa football team, and the Big Ten Conference as a whole.
Patterson, a former Iowa offensive coordinator under Hayden Fry, and a former head coach at Western Illinois, was the guest on Monday’s Hawk Fanatic radio show and podcast and he will appear on Mondays throughout the 2022 season.
His interview lasted for over an hour as he broke down Northwestern’s 31-28 victory over Nebraska, as well as Illinois’ win over Wyoming.
Both games were played this past Saturday.
Patterson also looked ahead to Iowa’s season opener against FCS power South Dakota State, which will be played on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium.
He provided a wide-range of analytics that he feels will have a big impact on Saturday’s game.
Kirk Ferentz is entering his 24th season as the Iowa head coach.
Iowa won the Big Ten West Division last season, and 10 games overall.
Patterson expressed optimism that Kirk Ferentz will have his players ready for Saturday’s game.
