AH-TV: Former Iowa QB Chuck Long talks about C.J. Beathard
CHICAGO, Ill. – Former Iowa All-America quarterback Chuck Long spoke with allhawkeyes on Tuesday about the rise of C.J. Beathard.
Long, who finished runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 1985 and now works for the Big Ten Network, raved about Beathard’s toughness, durability and leadership in the following video interview at Big Ten Media Day.
Beathard led Iowa to a school-record 12 victories last season in his first season as the full-time starter. He also made second-team all-Big Ten last season and is considered a dark horse candidate to win the 2016 Heisman Trophy as a senior.
Beathard is one of three players representing Iowa at Big Ten Media Days, which conclude on Tuesday. He is accompanied by senior cornerback Desmond King and junior linebacker Josey Jewell.
