Wednesday’s podcast talks Big Ten Media Day, politics and more
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Our latest podcast focuses mostly on Big Ten Media Days, which were held on Monday and Tuesday in Chicago.
We spend the first 30 minutes talking about some of the top story lines to emerge from the annual preseason event.
We also do our usual drifting, with the 2016 Presidential race part of our discussion, some serious, some of not so serious.
This podcast also includes several callers with some very good questions, including whether college athletic programs should give some of their revenue to the academic side of the school.
Kirk Ferentz’s contract negotiation is another topic that we discuss. Iowa Athletics Director Gary Barta said Tuesday in Chicago that he wants this new contract to take Ferentz into retirement.
Ferentz, who will turn 61 on August 1, is the dean of Big Ten football coaches, entering his 18th season as the Iowa coach.
We cover a lot of ground in just one hour, and have some fun while doing it. So give it a listen and enjoy.
