Iowa players address the media Tuesday afternoon
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa defensive end Anthony Nelson drew a large crowd of reporters at the team’s weekly press conference event on Tuesday.
The Waukee native is popular with the media as the current Big Ten Freshman of the Week, and as a former Iowa State commit.
Iowa will face the Cyclones at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium.
Nelson is expected to play a key role after collecting 2 1/2 sacks in the season opener against Miami of Ohio last Saturday at Kinnick Stadium. He might even start if sophomore Parker Hesse can’t play because of an injury.
Nelson is the son of former Iowa defensive lineman Jeff Nelson.
The younger Nelson is featured in the following player interviews, along with several of his teammates, including junior linebacker Joswey Jewell. He talks about the frustration with being disqualified from the Miami game for targeting and how he plans to learn from the experience.
