Wednesday’s podcast looks at ND State football as the eighth wonder of the world
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team will face a dynasty on Saturday when five-time defending FCS national champion North Dakota State comes to Kinnick Stadium.
It’ll be the first meeting between the two schools since 1947 and the third overall. Iowa won the previous two games in 1946 and 1947 by a combined score of 98-0.
We talk on this podcast about the non-stop praise that is being heaped on the Bison in preparation for Saturday. The Iowa players raved about North Dakota State’s incredible success on Tuesday, as did Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz.
But the 13th-ranked Hawkeyes still are favored by two touchdowns, and you wonder if by Saturday, the Iowa players will be sick and tired of hearing about North Dakota State’s accomplishments and use that as motivation.
We discuss that possibility during the podcast, along with other football-related topics. There is some drifting, but it’s pretty tame by our standards.
