AH podcast: Former Hawkeye great Adam Haluska joins our lineup
IOWA CITY, Iowa – We're excited to announce that former Iowa basketball star Adam Haluska is now part of the allhawkeyes/KCJJ podcast.
The former all-Big Ten shooting guard made his first appearance on Friday's podcast and talked for approximately 20 minutes about the Iowa men's basketball team as it prepares to enter Big Ten play. Iowa will face Purdue in the Big Ten opener next Wednesday in West Lafayette, Ind.
Haluska will appear every Friday during basketball season at the midway point of the podcast, which is approximately 9:30 a.m. Haluska is the last Iowa basketball player to average at last 20 points per game in a season. He averaged 20.5 points per game as a senior in 2007.
Iowa senior guard Peter Jok is currently averaging 23 points per game.
Haluska shares his thoughts about Jok's scoring ability and he looks back the post-game controversy against North Dakota on Tuesday when Iowa coch Fran McCaffery refused to shake hands after the game. McCaffery was upset with some of the chippy play down the stretch.
It created an awkward situation that was made more uncomfortable by former Hawkeye point guard Jeff Horner being a North Dakota assistant coach. Former Iowa assistant Brian Jones is also the head coach at North Dakota, adding to the awkwardness.
Haluska played with Horner at Iowa and had some interesting things to say about the hand-shake controversy.
We're thrilled to have Adam on board so give it a listen.
