Three-star receiver Calvin Lockett commits to Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa’s receiving corps could be receiving some much-needed help in its 2018 recruiting class.
Three-star receiver Calvin Lockett announced his commitment to Iowa on Wednesday via Twitter.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Lockett is the 15th player overall and the second receiver to commit to Iowa’s 2018 class.
Three-star Indianapolis native Tyrone Tracy is the other.
When it came down to it, Lockett, a native of Largo, Fla., felt that Iowa could become a second home for him.
“It feels great,” Lockett said. “Iowa has been a team that has been on since they offered me and after doing my research and having a great visit me and my family feel like it’ll be the best fit for me.
“The people really made me feel welcomed and I believe it’s a place I can fit in.”
Lockett made an official visit to Iowa on Dec. 9.
Lockett’s high school coach is former Hawkeye defensive back Marcus Paschal.
He also had offers from Boston College, Central Florida, Florida International, Illinois, Indiana, Marshall, Oregon State, Purdue, Southern Mississippi, Syracuse, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan and Wisconsin.
