Three-star receiver Erick All shocked by Iowa offer

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Within a week, 2019 three-star receiver Erick All went from being told to be patient to getting a scholarship offer from Iowa.
All, a native of Fairfield, Ohio, said he didn’t think that the Iowa coaching staff would extend an offer so soon.
“It was amazing,” All said. “When I first found out, I wasn’t expecting it. They had just told me earlier that week to be patient and that it takes them a while to offer so I wasn’t expecting an offer and then this Friday they offered me. I was in shock.”
All also has offers from Cincinnati, Kent State, Kentucky, Rutgers, Toledo and Western Michigan, but said the non-stop nature of recruiting makes it difficult to pick out favorites.
“I have no clue,” All said of picking favorites. “It’s so hard going through a recruiting process. Every college has a lot to offer you and you’ve got to focus on your position and what’s best for you and the way they use you in their offense.”
Although he’s listed as a receiver on recruiting sites, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound All is being recruited to play tight end at Iowa.
All said Iowa’s tradition at the tight end position is a big factor to him and that he sees himself as more of a receiver-tight end hybrid.
“That means a lot to me,” All said. “They call it Tight End U up there. It’s like a tight end but it’s like a flex position. It’s more like an h-back, that’s how they use their tight ends. I’ll be in the wing or I’ll be flexed out to wide receiver and stuff like that.”
All said he doesn’t have a specific timeline for his college decision, but said he will make it sometime during his senior year.
Iowa currently has four players committed to its 2019 recruiting class.
