IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa defensive coordinator Phil Parker addressed the media on Tuesday ahead of Iowa's final spring practice on April 20.

Parker gave an update on his defene's progress throughout spring practice and touched on his longevity at Iowa.

Parker is enterting his seventh season as defensive coordinator and 20th overall at Iowa. He spent the first 13 seasons as the defensive backs coach.

Parker is one of three coaches from head coach Kirk Ferentz's original staff that are still at Iowa.

The other two are Ferentz and strength and conditioning coordinator Chris Doyle.

Parker also said that if the right opportunity presented itself, he would entertain the thought of becoming a head coach one day.
