IOWA CITY, Iowa – Select members of the Iowa football team met with the media on Tuesday.

Iowa opens its 2018 season on Sept. 1 against Northern Illinois inside Kinnick Stadium.

Iowa has 12 underclassmen in its starting lineup, and 10 players who are making their first career start.

With a win on Saturday, head coach Kirk Ferentz will surpass Hayden Fry as the winningest coach in Iowa football history. The two are currently tied with 143 career wins.

Ferentz's first victory as Iowa's head coach was against Northern Illinois on Sept. 18, 1999.
