Four-star running back Reggie Love excited by Iowa offer

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team recently joined a crowded race for 2020 four-star running back Reggie Love.
Love, a native of St. Louis, added Iowa to a growing list of 20 scholarship offers on Friday.
“It feels good,” Love said. “It’s a great program. I was very excited that I was offered the opportunity to play at Iowa.”
Although Love hasn’t visited Iowa yet, Iowa special teams coach LeVar Woods has been in contact with Love since his freshman year of high school.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Love said that he has enjoyed the opportunity to get to know Woods throughout the recruiting process.
“The tradition at Iowa (stands out),” Love said. “Coach Woods has been recruiting me since freshman year. He comes off as a great coach and is a great guy.”
While some recruits look to play for a school that is closer to home, Love said that he has more important things that will factor into his eventual decision.
As far as ball, I want to play as a freshman, so the depth chart is a big factor to me,” Love said. “Also the school with tools and a plan for me to make it to the next level. Also the relationship I have with the coaches is key. I can’t play for coaches that come off wrong or I don’t trust. And lastly, a school with a great academic program.”
Love said he plans on narrowing his list of offers down to five at the end of August.
Love also has offers from Bowling Green, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame, Penn State, Purdue, Syracuse, Texas Christian, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.
Iowa currently has six players committed to its 2020 recruiting class.
