IOWA CITY, Iowa – Just days after de-committing from Northern Illinois, 2020 receiver Kaevion Mack received his first Power Five scholarship offer.
Mack, a native of Peoria, Ill., was visited by Iowa receivers coach Kelton Copeland on Monday.
“It’s an amazing feeling to know somewhere with a rich tradition of winning in a conference full of winners thinks highly enough to offer me,” Mack said.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Mack visited Iowa at the end of April and said that he was impressed by the atmosphere created by head coach Kirk Ferentz and his staff.
“Just the culture and the discipline they make their players play with (stood out),” Mack said.
Mack also said that he was blown away by the weight room during his visit to Iowa.
Besides Iowa, Mack has offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Indiana State.
Mack said he has no favorites right now and wants to continue learning about the schools that are showing him interest.
“I find no fault in any school I have an offer from,” Mack said. “I just have to continue to do my research and keep finding out more.”
Mack said that he’s in the process of figuring out when he wants to make his college choice.
