2021 Georgia running back Gabe Ervin anxious to learn more about Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Three-star running back Gabe Ervin has built an impressive scholarship offer list already.
The 2021 prospect added on offer from Iowa last week, his fifth from a Power Five school.
“It feels great to get the offer from Iowa,” Ervin said. “I have the opportunity to go to a great place.”
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Ervin isn’t very familiar with the Iowa program, but does know about true freshman running back, and fellow Georgia native, Tyler Goodson’s success this season.
Goodson has played in all 12 games for Iowa entering the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 27, and has a team-leading 634 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
“It’s really a huge factor,” Ervin said. “Somebody going far from home and starting as a true freshman. It’s amazing.”
Ervin, a native of Buford, Ga., also is anxious to learn more about Iowa after receiving a visit at his school from running backs coach Derrick Foster.
“I’m looking forward to knowing more about the culture and knowing more about the family over there,” Ervin said. “When the running backs coach came to school the other day, he was talking about how you’re going to go to a place that will fit you. He said Iowa is an amazing fit.”
Ervin’s other Power Five offers include: Colorado, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Rutgers, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
Ervin said he would like to begin narrowing down his list sooner rather than later.
Iowa currently has six players committed to its 2021 recruiting class.
