2023 Central Lyon DB commits to Iowa football
IOWA CITY, Iowa – A defensive back from Central Lyon High School is the latest player to commit to the Iowa football team’s 2023 recruiting class.
Zach Lutmer committed to Iowa Friday morning and just one day after having been offered a scholarship by Iowa.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Lutmer is expected to play safety for the Hawkeyes.
He is a multi-sport star in high school, earning first-team all-state honors in both football and basketball this past year and was all-conference in baseball as a sophomore.
During the recruiting process, Lutmer earned scholarship offers from South Dakota and South Dakota State in addition to Iowa.
He is the eighth player to commit to Iowa’s 2023 class.
The others are New Jersey quarterback Marco Lainez, Marion, Iowa athlete Alex Mota, Norwalk defensive tackle Maddux Borcherding-Johnson, Colorado defensive end Chase Brackney, Iowa City High linebacker Ben Kueter, Indiana offensive lineman Leighton Jones and Illinois defensive back John Nestor.
