Video: Postgame after Hawkeyes survive McNamara injury to defeat Spartans 26-16
By Dallas Jones
IOWA CITY, IOWA – We hear the word adversity thrown around in sports and life in general. The last two seasons, Iowa football has gone through its fair share of adversity to saw the least. This Saturday was no different.
The Hawkeye came out tonight firing and looking like a motivated bunch especially on offense. After a quick field goal, the Hawkeyes got the ball on their second possession inside the Michigan State five yard line.
That’s when QB1 Cade McNamara escaped the pocket and fell to the ground after planting his left leg into the ground on the run. From that point on, Deacon Hill took over at QB.
Now while Deacon made a few plays both good and bad, it was Cooper DeJean (surprise surprise), that stole the show! With a pick and a punt return for a TD, DeJean continues to shine. Erick All also had his best game as a Hawkeye finishing with four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Check out what DeJean, Hill, other Hawkeye players, and Coach Ferentz had to say postgame here:
