IOWA CITY, Iowa – Defensive back Ty Hudkins committed to the Iowa football team on Tuesday after having played his freshman season for Purdue.

The Grand Rapids, Michigan native announced his commitment on social media.

The 5-foot-11, 197-pound Hudkins appeared in 12 games this past season and he had one tackle against Indiana State while playing mostly on special teams.

He was previously committed to Northwestern, but he de-committed in 2023 after Pat Fitzgerald was fired as the Northwestern head coach.

Hudkins is expected to play safety for Iowa.
