Former FIU guard Ashton Williamson commits to Iowa men’s basketball

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Former Florida International guard Ashton Williamson has committed to the Iowa men’s basketball team.
A sophomore-to-be from Gary, Indiana, Williamson started 16 of FIU’s 33 games this past season as a true freshman, averaging 7.3 points, 2.7 assists and 1.6 steal per game. He also made 28 of 85 3-point shots.
Williamson gives Iowa 11 scholarship players under new head coach Ben McCollum.
The 6-foot-2 Williamson attended Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas as a high school senior and averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds per game.
