IOWA CITY, Iowa – Former North Dakota defensive tackle Emmanuel Olagbaju has committed to the Iowa football team he announced Friday on social media.
Olagbaju had previously been committed to UConn earlier in this transfer portal cycle but has now switched to Iowa. He is at least the 12th player to commit to Iowa from the portal since the 2025 season ended, and the fourth defensive linemen.
Olagbaju is listed at 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds.
Olagbaju finished the 2025 season with 11 tackles, three tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
After entering the transfer portal, Olagbaju reportedly received offers from UNC Charlotte, Georgia Southern, UTEP, Kent State, North Texas, Temple and UConn.
He started his college career at St. Thomas, but only played in four games over two seasons.
Adding defensive linemen from the portal has been a priority for Iowa during this open window as all four starters on Iowa’s 2025 defensive line have to be replaced.
Olagbaju has two seasons of eligibility remaining, but he could be granted another year due to an injury he suffered in 2024.
The Minneapolis native says on his X profile that he has a 31-inch vertical jump and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.89 seconds.
