Indiana WR Hippenhammer commits to Iowa
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Iowa football team added the first recruit from the state of Indiana to its 2017 recruiting class on Thursday.
Three-star receiver Mac Hippenhammer, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., announced his verbal commitment to Iowa via Twitter. He is the second recruits in three days to make a verbal commitment to Iowa.
Three-star cornerback Josh Turner, a native of Delray Beach, Fla., committed to Iowa on Thursday.
Hippenhammer chose Iowa over a top five that included Penn State, Wake Forest, Michigan State and Indiana.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Hippenhammer is the third receiver, and 17th recruit overall, to commit to Iowa’s 2017 class.
Hippenhammer joins fellow receivers Gavin Holmes, a native of Justin, Texas, and Brandon Smith, a native of Lake Cormorant, Miss., in the class.
Holmes and Smith are also rated three-star recruits according to Rivals.
