Jarrod Uthoff picked by ??? in the second round
IOWA CITY, Iowa – For the third year in a row, a former Iowa basketball player was selected in the NBA Draft.
Forward Jarrod Uthoff made it a three-peat when the ??? selected the 6-foot-9 Cedar Rapids native in the second round of the draft on Thursday and with xx pick overall.
Uthoff joins forward Aaron White and guard Devyn Marble as former Hawkeyes taken in each of the last three drafts. The Washington Wizards picked White in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft, while the Orlando Magic selected Marble in the second round of the 2014 draft.
Uthoff is coming off a season in which he became Iowa’s first consensus All-American since Charles Darling in 1952.
This marks the first time since the late 1980s that Iowa has had a player selected in three consecutive NBA drafts.
