Iowa reached double figures in known commitments for the 2016 recruiting class Thursday morning when Indiana running back Toks Akinribade pledged to the Hawkeyes. He became pledge No. 10 in the group.

Akinribade also reported scholarship offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Purdue, among others. He showed interest from schools like Notre Dame and Tennessee.

As a junior at Brownsburg (IN) High, the 6-foot, 205-pound Akinribade rushed 1,579 yards and 15 touchdowns and 220 carries. That followed a sophomore campaign where he ran for 1,073 and nine scores on 178 totes.

Rivals lists Akinribade as a three-star athlete and the No. 4 player in Indiana for ’16. Scout ranks the Indiana standout as a three-star running back, the No. 10 player at the position in Midwest Region.
