Juan Harris Back with Hawkeyes
JUAN HARRIS THE OPENING CHICAGO REGIONAL FILM AND EVALUATION
Iowa picked up its second commitment in the 2017 Class very early Thursday morning. It was a name familiar to Hawkeye fans.
West Union (IA) North Fayette Defensive Tackle Juan Harris Tweeted at 3:51 a.m. CT that he was pledging to Iowa. It was the third time since December. (click on image to enlarge Tweet)

Harris committed to Iowa on December 1. He de-committed on Jan. 2. He re-committed on Jan. 18 before backing off the pledge on March 17.
Harris’ Tweet indicated that he understood that fans might question his recent commitment considering his indecision in the past. He explained that he back off his previous Iowa pledges because he wanted to see what else is out there before being sure the Hawkeyes were best for him.
Per his Tweet, he said he visited 21 other schools. After that, he believed Iowa was the best place for him.
Harris reported additional scholarship offers from, among others, Wisconsin, Michigan, Louisville, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vanderbilt and Virginia. Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, LSU, Michigan State, Penn State and USC were showing interest.
Rivals rates Harris as a four-star prospect. 247 ranks him as a four-star, the No. 1 player in Iowa for ’17 and No. 21 DT nationally in the class. Scout does not have him ranked.
Madrid (IA) High defensive end Coy Kirkpatrick became the first Class of ’17 verbal commitment for Iowa when he pledged on June 8.
