IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa kicked off its season Saturday with a 31-14 stomping of Illinois State at Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes first-team defense pitched a shutout before the visitors got on the scoreboard against the reserves late in the fourth quarter.

All Hawkeyes also kicked off its first campaign on the Iowa football beat. We produced stories, videos and photos at a high rate.
