IOWA CITY, Iowa – Asked to describe what they saw watching film of North Texas, the Iowa players agreed on one observation. The Mean Green showed speed.

"They have a lot of fast guys," Senior Receiver Jacob Hillyer said of the defense.

Cornerback Greg Mabin noticed the same thing in the North Texas offense.

"They’re definitely very capable," he said. "They’re going to try to test us down the field. They’re going to try to get the ball to their play-makers in space and try to make us miss. We’re going to have to be ready for that."

The Mean Green comes to town lugging an 0-2 record. The Iowa players are focused more on what the film shows them rather than their opponent’s previous results.

"They’re a good team," Hawkeye Quarterback C.J. Beathard said. "They have good guys up front, a good secondary. They’re a little bit different in the secondary, not as much man-to-man. But they’re a good team. We’re just going to have to come out and execute."
