Friday’s podcast talks UI hoops, wrestling, junior day and Bobby Fuller’s mysterious death
IOWA CITY, Iowa – It’ll be a busy weekend for the Iowa Athletic Department as it prepares to host the 2016 Big Ten Wrestling Championships at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Iowa men’s basketball team also will play its regular-season finale at Michigan on Saturday, with Big Ten Tournament seedings on the line.
And the Iowa football program will stage a junior day event on Sunday that is expected to draw the top juniors from Iowa and from bordering states.
Those were among the topics discussed during Friday’s podcast. We also did our usual drifting and somehow found ourselves talking about the mysterious death in 1966 of rising rock star Bobby Fuller. His band had earned fame for the massive US hit, "I Fought the Law."
