AH-TV: Lisa Bluder, Iowa players talk about getting the most out of WNIT
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa women’s basketball coach Lisa Bluder had mixed emotion as she met with the media on Tuesday afternoon.
Her press conference was held less than 24 hours after learning that the Hawkeyes had failed to make the NCAA Tournament for the first since 2007.
Bluder talked about the disappointment of not making the NCAA Tournament for a ninth consecutive season, and about the challenge of moving on in preparation for Thursday’s game against Ball State in the WNIT. She encouraged fans to attend the game, which starts at 7 p.m. and will be played at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Several of the Iowa players, including junior Ally Disterhoft, also talked about having mixed emotions after not making the NCAA Tournament. They now hope to make a deep run in the WNIT in order to send the seniors out on a high note and to build for next season.
