DC receiver Savoy eager to learn more about Iowa
IOWA CITY, Iowa – Sean Savoy doesn’t know much about the Iowa football program, but that should change after what happened Friday.
The Iowa coaching staff offered the speedy receiver from Washington D.C. a scholarship Friday morning.
“It’s really big, especially knowing how far they are away,” Savoy said. “It’s a very good look.
"I don’t know much about them as of right now. But I’m going to do some research as soon as possible.”
The 5-foot-10, 172-pound Savoy reportedly also has scholarships offers from Syracuse, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Temple and Maryland. He said Friday that he doesn’t have any favorites as of now.
“They’re all about the same right now,” Savoy said. “I’m still weighing my options.”
Savoy plans to attend some camps this summer, but he isn’t sure which ones at this point. He also has no timetable for a decision.
“I want to try to get it over as soon as possible after a few visits and sitting down with my family,” Savoy said.
Savoy is ranked as a three-star recruit by 247 and a two-star by Rivals. He also has gained interest from Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, Indiana and Wake Forest.
