CHICAGO, Ill. – Iowa Athletics Director Gary Barta spoke with reporters Tuesday morning at Big Ten Media Days about Kirk Ferentz’s new contract.

Barta gave no timetable for a decision and he declined to talk specifics about the contract. However, Barta said his goal is for this to be Ferentz’s final contract before retirement.

Ferentz’s current contract runs through the 2019 season. Ferentz is the dean of Big Ten football coaches, entering his 18th season as the Iowa coach.
